ISBA Assembly Ratifies Association’s Comments on CBA/CBF Task Force on the Sustainable Practice of Law and Innovation

At its Dec. 11, 2020, meeting, the ISBA Assembly formally ratified comments submitted on behalf of the Association regarding recommendations contained in the Final Report of the CBA/CBF Task Force on the Sustainable Practice of Law and Innovation.

The ISBA's comments were formally submitted by President Dennis Orsey via letter on Aug. 20, 2020. President Orsey highlighted the comments during his Presidential Report to the Assembly, and a motion was made from the floor for the Assembly to take a position on the comments. After a vigorous discussion of the relevant issues, a motion was made for the Assembly to simply ratify the existing ISBA comments and make its support known to the Illinois Supreme Court. The motion carried with a nearly unanimous majority.
