U.S. Attorney’s Office Seeks Assistant U.S. Attorney - Southern District
The U.S. Attorney's Office Southern District of Illinois is accepting applications for an Assistant United States Attorney opening in its Criminal Division to be located in Benton, IL.
Applicants must be United States citizens; submit to a background investigation, credit and tax checks, and drug test; be registered for selective service, if applicable; have a J.D. Degree; have at least one year post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience; and be active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction).
Preferred qualifications include admission to the Illinois bar, three years post-J.D. litigation experience or other relevant experience, strong advocacy skills, academic credentials, superior legal research and writing skills, quick analytical ability to accurately and precisely articulate critical case-related issues, good interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a supportive and professional team environment with client agencies, support staff, and other attorneys, and sound legal and ethical judgment.
The salary range for the position is $64,649 to $151,690 which includes 15.95% locality pay. The application deadline is extended through December 8, 2021.
