    James P. Gallagher 1938-2016

    James P. Gallagher, born June 18, 1938, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016. Jim is survived by his ten children: Beth (Curt) Coolidge; Anne (Dan) Feely; Jim Gallagher, Jr. (Bridget Stanis); Ellen (Tim) Kane; Lynne (Chris) Nanson; John (Carrie) Gallagher; Nancy (Matt) Graham; Michael (Isabel) Gallagher; Sarah (Tucker) McDermott; and Matthew Gallagher (Meg Hanley). He will be lovingly remembered by his 19 grandchildren: Brendan, Ryan and Jack Coolidge; Lauren, Caitlin and Sarah Feely; Timothy and Edward Kane; Elizabeth, Tessa and Natalie Nanson; Chuck and Will Gallagher; Nora and Genevieve Graham; Eva Gallagher; Sydney, Tucker and Christian McDermott. He is survived by his partner, Carol Pierce, and his siblings Sari (Dan) Nagle, Mary (Dave) O'Brien and Margaret (Aunt Margie). He was a fond uncle of 11 nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Georgiana (Webb) Gallagher, and siblings Georgiana O'Neill and Ellen (Sr. James Marie) Gallagher.

    Mrozek leads Hinshaw's new consulting and coaching services

    Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP announced today that it has launched a Consultants and Coaches for the Profession Practice™. The new practice will focus on helping law firm leaders address complex business- and management-related challenges and opportunities involved in effectively managing their firms.

    Chicago-based partner Donald L. Mrozek — who served as Hinshaw's chairman from 1989–2015 — will lead the practice. Under his watch, Hinshaw grew from a small Chicago-area law firm to a national firm with 25 offices, approximately 500 attorneys and more than $225 million in revenues.

    Attend the Mental Health Section Council meeting on October 17

    All members of the Mental Health section are invited to attend the upcoming Mental Health Section Council meeting on Monday, October 17 at noon at the Chicago Regional Office, 20 S Clark Suite 900 Chicago, IL 60603.

    Alexa James, Executive Director of the National Alliance of Mental Illness of Chicago, will be speaking at the meeting. 

    Members are welcome to call in or attend the meeting in person. The presentation is expected to last approximately half an hour. If you are interested in attending or calling in, please contact Mary Grant at mgrant@isba.org. Space is limited.

    Attorney Michael Pisano Joins Ice Miller’s Litigation Group

    Ice Miller LLP is pleased to announce that Michael Pisano has joined the Firm as an Associate in the Litigation group. He concentrates his practice in prosecuting and defending civil litigation matters.  Michael represents clients in a wide variety of litigation matters with an emphasis in representing professionals in the construction area including owners, developers, designers and general contractors.  He also has experience in defending consumer claims brought against clients in regard to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) laws and defending employers in employee disputes.

    Chief judge announces two finalists for associate judge vacancy

    Chief Circuit Judge Kathryn E. Creswell is pleased to announce that following an October 6, 2016 meeting of the Circuit Judges of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Court, two finalists for the Office of Associate Judge have been selected and certified to the Illinois Supreme Court. The finalists are seeking to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of Associate Judge Karen M. Wilson to Circuit Judge. From these names, the Circuit Judges will select one appointee by secret ballot.

    Kallmeyer and O'Brien promoted to partners at Quarles & Brady LLP
