More than 100 ISBA members joined the Illinois Bar Foundation under a tent in Millennium Park on June 3 to support the Warren Lupel Fund. Donations to the Lupel Fund are used for the Illinois Bar Foundation’s Subsistence Program. The Subsistence Program provides support to those lawyers or their families who are unable to support themselves due to age, infirmity or other tragedy.
This year, IBF has seen a significant increase in requests for assistance. In response, The Board doubled the Subsistence Program budget to provide support for the many individuals who seek our help. General contributions fill in the gap between the need and the restricted funds available through the Lupel Fund. Through the Subsistence program, IBF steps in to keep the lawyer and his or her family in their home and to meet their most immediate needs.
The Warren Lupel Fund was established in 2004 to recognize Warren's significant contributions to IBF as its president.
