    Campaign Season for ISBA Election Underway

    Campaign season for the 2021 Illinois State Bar Association election began October 1, for open leadership seats of third vice president (outside Cook County) and one seat each for the following Board of Governors seats: Area 1 (Circuit 18), Area 6 (Circuits 7, 8, and 9), and Area 8 (Circuits 3 and 20). There is also one Board of Governors seat in Cook County. There are 26 open seats for Cook County Assembly.

    Kasserman Elected Third Vice-President and Full Results from the ISBA Election

    Shawn S. Kasserman has been elected Third Vice-President of the Illinois State Bar Association. Julie A. Johnson and Stephen M. Komie won the Cook County seats on the Board of Governors; and Jennifer A. Haase won the Board of Governors seat for Under Age 37 Cook County.

    ISBA Election Results to Be Available May 4

    The polls for the ISBA election closed on April 30 at 4:30 p.m. Results will be made available on May 4.

    Only attorney members who paid their dues by March 1, 2020 were eligible to vote.

    Last Day to Vote in ISBA Election is April 30

    Voting is now underway in the 2020 ISBA Election. ISBA's election provider Election America distributed ballots on March 26. All members of the Association (except non-lawyer members) with dues paid by March 1, 2020 are eligible to vote. 

    The deadline for voting is Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. Central Time for all voting methods: e-ballot, paper or internet.

    2020 ISBA Election Underway: Last Day to Request Paper Ballot is April 15

    Voting is now underway in the 2020 ISBA Election. The last day to request a paper ballot is April 15, 2020.

    ISBA's election provider Election America emailed e-ballots to members with valid email addresses on March 26. All members of the Association (except non-lawyer members) with dues paid by March 1, 2020 are eligible to vote. The deadline for voting is Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 4:30 p.m.

    Voting Underway in 2020 ISBA Election

    Voting is now underway in the 2020 ISBA Election.

    ISBA's election provider Election America emailed e-ballots to members with valid email addresses today, Thursday, March 26. Members without a valid email address will be mailed a paper ballot. All members of the Association (except non-lawyer members) with dues paid by March 1, 2020 are eligible to vote. The deadline for voting is Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 4:30 p.m.

    Candidate Report for the 2020 ISBA Election

    The Candidate Report for the 2020 ISBA Election is below. All members of the association (except non-lawyer members) with their dues paid by March 1, 2020 are eligible to vote.

    (N.B.: Pursuant to the Policy and Procedures for Election approved by the ISBA Assembly, in those instances where there are more candidates than positions to be filled, nominees are listed on the ballot by the date of filing. Where two or more people filed on the same date, ballot positions were determined by lot. Ballot positions are listed next to the candidate’s name.)

    File Your Nominating Petitions for ISBA Election by Friday, January 31

    The deadline to submit nominating petitions for the ISBA election is Friday, Jan. 31, at 4:30 p.m. at either the Illinois Bar Center, 424 S. 2nd St., Springfield, or the Chicago Regional Office at 20 S. Clark St., Suite 900, Chicago.

    Members of the ISBA will elect a third vice president, two Board of Governors seats in Cook County, and 21 seats for Cook County Assembly.

    One board seat is open in each of the following Areas: Area 3 (Circuits 12, 13, 16, 21, and 23), Area 4 (Circuits 10, 14 and 15), Under Age 37 – Cook County, and Under Age 37 Outside Cook County (Circuits 1-23).
