    Illinois Bar Foundation to Honor Three at Annual Fellows Breakfast

    The Illinois Bar Foundation will honor Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education Executive Director Michael J. Rooney and Illinois Supreme Court Justice Mary Jane Theis with the 2019 Distinguished Service to Law & Society Awards at the annual Fellows Breakfast on Friday, Dec. 6 at the Westin O'Hare in Rosemont. Allen N. Schwartz of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz will receive the 2019 Honorary Fellow Award.

    3rd District Admission Ceremony, November 2019

    New attorneys were admitted to practice in Illinois on Nov. 7 at five separate locations across the state. The  Third Judicial District ceremony was held at the East Peoria Embassy Suites Hotel Conference Center, 100 Conference Center Drive, in Peoria.

    2019 Joint Midyear Meeting Room Block Expires Nov. 10

    The deadline for making lodging reservations for the 2019 Joint Midyear Meeting is before 5 p.m. on Nov. 10. Reservations received after this date will be subject to availability.

    To make reservations, please contact the Westin O'Hare directly at 888.627.8517 and be sure to identify yourself as an ISBA Joint Midyear Meeting attendee.

    The Joint Midyear Meeting, hosted by the Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Judges Association, will be held Dec. 5-7, 2019, at the Westin O'Hare in Rosemont. The online registration deadline is Wednesday, Nov. 27.

    The Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Judges Association are pleased to invite you to celebrate the profession and consider issues of mutual interest to the bench and bar during our annual Joint Midyear Meeting, which will be held Dec. 5-7, 2019, at the Westin O'Hare in Rosemont.

    ISBA to Honor Class of 1969 Distinguished Counsellors on Nov. 14

    The Illinois State Bar Association will honor the Class of 1969 Distinguished Counsellors on Nov. 14. This title is conferred annually upon those ISBA members who are completing their 50th year of practice.

    The Board of Governors is pleased to announce the 2019 Class will be honored at a special luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 14 at the Palmer House Chicago. A reception will begin at 11 a.m., and lunch is scheduled promptly at 11:45 a.m.

    Campaign Season for ISBA Election Underway

    Campaign season for the 2020 Illinois State Bar Association election begins today, October 1, for open leadership seats of third vice president and one seat each for the following Board of Governors seats: Area 3 (Circuits 12, 13, 16, 21, and 23), Area 4 (Circuits 10, 14 and 15), Under Age 37 – Cook County, and Under Age 37 Outside Cook County (Circuits 1-23).
