The Illinois Supreme Court has appointed Frederick H. Bates as a Circuit Judge of Cook County, At Large. This vacancy was created by the retirement of the Hon. Marilyn F. Johnson. It is effective Dec. 14, 2015 and terminates on Dec. 5, 2016.
Michael J. Tardy, Director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, announced today that the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit judges voted to select Donna R. Honzel as an associate judge of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit.
Ms. Honzel received her undergraduate degree in 1988 from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg and her Juris Doctor in 1991 from the University of Illinois. Ms. Honzel is currently affiliated with Mateer Goff & Honzel LLP in Rockford.
Justice Thomas L. Kilbride and the Illinois Supreme Court have announced the appointment of Galesburg attorney Anthony W. Vaupel as a Circuit Judge in the Ninth Judicial Circuit.
Mr. Vaupel was appointed by the Court to fill the vacancy created by Chief Judge James B. Stewart, who retired on October 1, 2015. His appointment takes effect December 7, 2015, and will terminate on Dec. 5, 2016, when the position is filled by the 2016 General Election.
Ketki Shroff Steffen has been appointed as a Circuit Judge of Cook County, 13th Subcircuit. This appointment fills the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Thomas P. Fecoratta, Jr. It is effective Nov. 12, 2015 and terminates on Dec. 5, 2016.
The Illinois Supreme Court announced Monday that Gerald Vernon Cleary, III has been appointed as a Circuit Judge of Cook County, at large. This appointment is effective Nov. 5, 2015 and terminates on Dec. 5, 2016. It was created by the retirement of the Hon. Richard F. Walsh.
Michael J. Tardy, Director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, announced today that the Twenty-Second Judicial Circuit judges voted to select Jeffrey L. Hirsch as an associate judge of the Twenty-Second Judicial Circuit.
Mr. Hirsch received his undergraduate degree in 1991 from Indiana University in Bloomington and his Juris Doctor in 1994 from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Mr. Hirsch is currently affiliated with The Gitlin Law Firm in Woodstock.
Michael J. Tardy, Director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, announced Monday that the 22nd Judicial Circuit judges voted to select Michael E. Coppedge as an associate judge of the 22nd Judicial Circuit.
Mr. Coppedge received his undergraduate degree in 1984 from the College of St. Francis in Joliet, and his Juris Doctor in 1987 from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Mr. Coppedge is currently affiliated with Cowlin, Naughton, Curran & Coppedge in Crystal Lake.
Michael J. Tardy, Director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, announced Tuesday that Jeffrey A. Goffinet, received a majority of votes cast by the circuit judges in the First Judicial Circuit and is declared to be appointed to the office of associate judge.
Goffinet received his undergraduate degrees in 1981 from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL and his Juris Doctor in 1984 from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Mr. Goffinet is currently affiliated with Brandon, Schmidt & Goffinet in Carbondale.
Michael J. Tardy, Director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, announced Sept. 4 that the Third Judicial Circuit judges voted to select Donald M. Flack, Maureen D. Schuette and Luther W. Simmons as associate judges of the Third Judicial Circuit.
Illinois Supreme Court Justice Thomas L. Kilbride is seeking public comment on six attorneys who have applied to fill two vacancies in the Ninth Judicial Circuit.
The vacancies were created by the announced retirements of Circuit Judge Steven R. Bordner and Chief Judge James B. Stewart. Judge Bordner's retirement took effect August 20, 2015 and Chief Judge Stewart's retirement will take effect October 1, 2015
