    ROSS Intelligence to Provide Member Benefit for Illinois State Bar Association

    ROSS Intelligence is now offering a member benefit to the ISBA.

    ROSS’s user base already includes attorneys, paralegals, law students, and librarians throughout Illinois, and pro bono attorneys throughout the state have already been using ROSS for several years. This relationship now provides all members of the ISBA with an enhanced member benefit and training opportunities, opening up the doors for members across the state to incorporate the next generation of legal research tools into their practice.

    Lawyer Referral Service Makes More than 800 Referrals in January

    The Illinois State Bar Association’s Lawyer Finder Service provides referrals to local lawyers Mondays through Fridays. The Service makes referrals in a number of areas of law. For the month of January 2020 there were more than 800 referrals given.

    Association Health Plan Update: Mercer Soliciting Offerings From Health Insurance Carriers

    The ISBA has announced the next steps in the process of potentially offering members an Association Health Plan later this year.

    Mercer, the national employee benefit consulting firm that the ISBA has partnered with, is in the process of soliciting competitive offerings from multiple health insurance carriers. Mercer anticipates providing ISBA leadership with viable options by early spring, and that ISBA members will be able to enroll in an Association Health Plan by this summer.

    Join ISBA’s Group Admissions Ceremony to Practice Before the U.S. Supreme Court

    Every few years, the Illinois State Bar Association organizes an admission ceremony at the U.S. Supreme Court. This year's ceremony will take place June 14-15, 2020, in Washington, D.C.

    Only 50 spots will be available. A special group hotel room rate will be available at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel for admittees, their families, and guests.

    To be eligible, you must be an active lawyer member of the ISBA, admitted to practice more than 3 years, and not have any adverse disciplinary action pronounced or in effect during that 3-year period.

    Illinois Lawyer Finder “Profile Plus” Now Available to ISBA Members

    The ISBA has announced the addition of a new “Profile Plus” option on the Illinois Lawyer Finder directory.

    Members will still have access to a free “Basic Profile,” but will now also have the option to upgrade to “Profile Plus,” which features a number of additional fields to optimize the member’s profile.

    With the free “Basic Profile,” members will be able to select up to five different practice areas, as well as post their contact information, education history, title, and a profile photo.
