David B. Sosin, a founding member and partner of the law firm Sosin, Arnold & Schoenbeck in Orland Park, will be installed as president of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) at the organization’s 143rd Annual Meeting on Friday, June 14 at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
During his year as president, Sosin will concentrate on several initiatives, including the new ISBA Leadership Academy, health and wellness resources for attorneys, transition and succession planning for solo and small-firm practices, and health insurance options for ISBA members.
Among Sosin’s top priorities is the creation of the ISBA Leadership Academy, which will train attorneys to develop the necessary skills to take on leadership positions within the ISBA and the legal profession.
A second initiative will investigate options for a potential ISBA-sponsored health insurance plan for member attorneys. Recent regulatory changes enabling nonprofit organizations to pool their members into a single plan may present an opportunity to examine insurance options available for ISBA members.
Sosin is a partner at Sosin, Arnold & Schoenbeck, where he practices real estate, land use, and zoning law. He also serves as attorney for the Village of Crestwood just east of Orland Park. He has served on a number of ISBA committees, and chaired the Insurance Committee, Bar Services Committee, and Minority and Women’s Participation Committee. Sosin is also the chair-elect of the ISBA Mutual Insurance Company Board of Directors.
Sosin received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and a J.D. from Northwestern School of Law.
