Clark Hill Adds Political Law Attorney John G. Fogarty, Jr., to Firm
Clark Hill PLC today announced the addition of John G. Fogarty, Jr. to the firm as Senior Counsel in its Chicago office, where he is a member of the Government and Public Affairs Practice Group.
He joins the firm from his private practice. A graduate of Northwestern University and Chicago Kent College of Law, Fogarty represents candidates, office holders, political committees, individuals, corporations, and nonprofits in all aspects of the electoral and legislative processes, including ballot access, campaign finance and disclosure, lobbying and government affairs, media issues and party governance.
In addition to currently serving for the past six years as general counsel to the Illinois Republican Party and to the Illinois Association of Republican County Chairmen, Fogarty represents candidates and political committees throughout the state in administrative matters, as well as in state and federal courts. He also represents clients in a lobbying capacity in areas including agriculture, energy, healthcare, insurance, gaming, municipal issues, telecommunications, and transportation.
Founded in 1890, Clark Hill has been expanding since 2013, beginning with the addition of 100 lawyers from Thorp Reed & Armstrong. In 2017, the firm merged with Los Angeles-based Morris Polich & Purdy LLP, adding some 100 lawyers, and in 2018 the firm combined with Texas-based Strasburger & Price, adding 200 more lawyers in Texas, New York, Washington, D.C. and Mexico City.
