    Notice of Nomination of ISBA Delegates to the ABA House of Delegates

    At the December 10, 2021, meeting of the ISBA Assembly, two “Under 35” Delegates to the ABA House of Delegates will be elected, one from Cook County and one from the area outside Cook County. The nominees for these positions must be members of the ISBA, in good standing, from the appropriate area, and under the age of 35 at the time the ABA term commences. The elected delegates will serve for two-year terms commencing June 2022 and will join the ISBA delegation at the ABA annual meeting in TBD.

    Volunteers Needed for the University of Illinois’ Mock Trial Tournament (11/13/21 - 11/14/21)

    The Mock Trial Team for the University of Illinois needs additional volunteers to judge its 14th Annual Illinois Invitational Tournament on November 13 - 14, 2021, at the Urbana-Champaign campus. The competition will be in-person this year. The rounds for both days are 9:00 a.m. to noon and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    Illinois Lawyer Finder Makes More Than 700 Referrals in October

    The Illinois State Bar Association’s Lawyer Finder Service provides referrals to local lawyers Mondays through Fridays. The Service makes referrals in a number of areas of law. For the month of October, 2021, ISBA helped 771 people in need of legal services find lawyers.

    ISBA Resolution Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Justinian Society of Lawyers

    The ISBA Board of Governors on September 24 approved a resolution recognizing and celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Justinian Society of Lawyers.

    The Justinians are in invaluable part of the Illinois legal community and a significant number of their members have served with distinction as the president of the Illinois State Bar Association.

    The Illinois State Bar Association’s Lawyer Finder Service provides referrals to local lawyers Mondays through Fridays. The Service makes referrals in a number of areas of law. For the month of September, 2021, ISBA helped 1,040 people in need of legal services find lawyers.

    This numbers does not include additional referrals made through the online Illinois Lawyer Finder service.

    The first episode of “Let’s Get Legal,” powered by the ISBA and produced by WGN Radio, aired on July 10 and is available to stream online. 

    “Let’s Get Legal” features ISBA members discussing various legal topics and answering questions from listeners. The program, hosted by Jon Hansen, is broadcast throughout the state on WGN Radio 720 AM and WGNRadio.com from 3-5 p.m. on Saturdays.
