    ISBA Young Lawyer of the Year Diana Law sworn-in as president of Kane County Bar Association
    [caption id="attachment_20005" align="alignright" width="150" caption="Diana Law"][/caption] During the Annual Membership Dinner and Awards Ceremony on June 2, Diana M. Law was sworn in as the Kane County Bar Association President, 2011 – 2012. Presiding over the ceremony was Justice Ann B. Jorgensen, Presiding Justice of the Illinois Appellate Court, Second District.  State Representative Linda Chapa LaVia of Aurora, presented House Resolution 366 recognizing Diana as President of the Kane County Bar Association.  Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Chief Judge F. Keith Brown introduced Diana and also read a congratulatory letter from Attorney General Lisa Madigan. A managing partner at the Aurora Law Firm of Law ElderLaw, Diana has been a member of the KCBA Board of Managers for four years.  Diana is co-chair of the Delivery of Legal Services Committee and is a member of several other KCBA committees.  Named the Kane County Bar Association Outstanding New Lawyer in 2007, Diana was selected in 2010 as the Illinois State Bar Association Young Lawyer of the Year.

    Kane County Bar Association accepting applications for law school scholarships
    The Kane County Bar Foundation is accepting applications for law school scholarships. Through the generosity of Kane County Bar Association members, the Foundation has been able to award at least two scholarships of $1,000 each year. Qualified applicants are Kane County residents (or whose parents reside in Kane County) who are attending law school in the 2010 – 2011 academic year. The scholarship application deadline is May 1, 2010 and applications can be obtained on the Kane County Bar Foundation's website. The Kane County Bar Foundation is a 501 (C) (3) charitable organization.

    Kane County Bar Association to hold "Ask a Lawyer Days"
    The Kane County Bar Association will conduct monthly "Ask A Lawyer Days" during 2009, due to the popularity of the program established during its 150th anniversary celebration last year.  On the second Saturday of each month, members of the public are encouraged to call 630-762-1900 between the hours of 9:00 and 11:00 am for a free consultation with a volunteer attorney. This public information service is a great opportunity to ask questions and find direction for any legal matters you may have.  The next "Ask A Lawyer Day" will be held on Saturday, August 8.  If you are not able to call at that time, please visit the Kane County Bar Association website, and select the "Find A Lawyer" tab to search for an attorney.
