The Illinois State Bar Association’s Lawyer Finder Service provides referrals to local lawyers Mondays through Fridays. The Service makes referrals in a number of areas of law. For the month of November, 2024, ISBA helped 1,193 people in need of legal services find lawyers. 

Justice Lisa Holder White of the Supreme Court of Illinois has announced the formation of a judicial screening committee for the Eighth Judicial Circuit.

Justice David K. Overstreet of the Supreme Court of Illinois has begun an application process for two resident circuit judge vacancies in the 2nd Judicial Circuit in Wayne and Edwards counties. A vacancy for Resident Circuit Judge, Wayne County, was created by the resignation of Judge Michael J. Molt, effective November 30, 2024. A vacancy for Resident Circuit Judge, Edwards County, was created by the death of Judge Michael J. Valentine on November 5, 2024. Appointment to both vacancies go through December 7, 2026, following the 2026 November general election.
