Note: Only private law firms are eligible to apply for the Rural Practice Fellowship Program. This form should be completed by the attorney in your firm who would be the primary supervisor of a Fellow (law clerk or associate attorney), if your firm is selected for the program.

To qualify for this program, a law firm must be located in an Illinois county considered “rural” for purposes of this program. This includes all Illinois counties except: Cook, Will, DuPage, Lake, Sangamon, Macon, St. Clair, Madison, Tazewell, Peoria, Champaign, McLean, Jackson, Jefferson, Winnebago, Rock Island Counties.

Answer the following three questions only if your firm is interested in hiring a law clerk
Fellows in this program will be provided with a stipend to assist with living expenses during the program.
I understand that my firm is not guaranteed the placement of a summer clerk or permanent associate. I also understand that if accepted into the Rural Practice Fellowship Program, my firm is expected to use good faith efforts to make at least one offer to a summer clerk or a permanent associate. I also understand that offers to summer clerks should be completed by March 18, 2022, and to permanent associates by April 1, 2022. I certify that I understand that fellows will not be employees of the ISBA, and that I will follow all payroll laws, and other laws, including the minimum wage of Illinois.
