The Section Council reviewed 27 bills that may affect their members’ practice area. Highlights of the most recent legislative session include:
- House Bill 1063 repeals the criminal prosecution for transmission of HIV.
- Senate Bill 139 allows the removal of gendered language on marriage certificates.
- House Bill 2590 allows for a person to get a new marriage certificate to reflect a legal name change.
