ISBA Central Discussions
ISBA Central communities allows section members to pose questions, answer questions, and share information with fellow section members. Members of the section get free access to the section’s community. Joining any section also grants you access to the Transactional and Litigation communities. Legislation
The Section Council reviewed 32 bills that may affect their members’ practice area. Highlights of the most recent legislative session include:
- Senate Bill 672 legislates the use of restrictive covenants in employment contracts.
- House Bill 53 provides that employers that rely solely upon artificial intelligence to determine whether an applicant will qualify for an in-person interview must gather and report certain demographic information to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
- House Bill 1838 amends the Illinois Human Rights Act to provide that discrimination based on disability includes unlawful discrimination against an individual because of the individual’s association with a person with a disability.
