Legislation
The Section Council reviewed 28 bills that may affect their members’ practice area. Highlights of the most recent legislative session include:
- Senate Bill 626 changes how community service may be used to reduce fines in traffic offenses.
- House Bill 343 amends the special speed limits while passing in a school zone so that a school day begins at 6:30 a.m. (instead of 7 a.m.)
- Senate Bill 2455 amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to repeal sections of the Code requiring the driver of a vehicle that is involved in specified types of accidents to file a report of the accident with the Department of Transportation.
