The Section Council reviewed 38 bills that may affect their members’ practice area. Highlights of the most recent legislative session include:
- Senate Bill 730 creates the Electronic Wills and Remote Witnesses Act to regulate remote access.
- Senate Bill 2179 makes a six-year statute of repose for all legal work by repealing the estate-planning exception.
- Senate Bill 47 upgrades the Transfer on Death Instrument Act.
