Continuing Legal Education

Section members receive discounts on section-sponsored CLE programs. During the 2020–21 bar year, the Section sponsored or co-sponsored the following programs:

ISBA Central Discussions

ISBA Central communities allows section members to pose questions, answer questions, and share information with fellow section members. Members of the section get free access to the section’s community. Joining any section also grants you access to the Transactional and Litigation communities. Legislation

The Section Council reviewed 19 bills that may affect their members’ practice area. Highlights of the most recent legislative session include:

  • House Bill 3662 provides that a contagious staph infection, including MRSA, is rebuttably presumed to arise out of and in the course of employment for firefighters and emergency medical technicians.
  • Senate Bill 2041 establishes standards for cannabis impairment sufficient to bar compensation for injuries to employees who are intoxicated.
  • Senate Bill 2234 authorizes the recording of an employee's medical examination with the consent of the employee and the physician to be used as evidence.
