The ISBA’s 2022 Annual Meeting Opening Reception was held on June 9 at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. This Annual Meeting was one of the first opportunities for members to gather in person since 2019.

Rory T. Weiler, founding partner of Weiler and Lengle P.C. in St. Charles, who concentrates his practice on family law, was installed as president of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) on June 1, 2022, at the Illinois Supreme Court building in Springfield. President Weiler is the 146th president of the ISBA.

The Illinois Bar Foundation held its 22nd Annual Black Tie Gala on May 20, 2022, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago. During the event, J. Timothy Eaton, of Taft Law, received the foundation’s 2022 Distinguished Award for Excellence. Mr. Eaton served as the ISBA President, 2001-02

Anna Krolikowska, the founder of Anna K Law in Northbrook who concentrates her practice in family law, was installed as president of the Illinois State Bar Association on June 17 at the Illinois Supreme Court building in Springfield.
The ISBA honored the recipients of the Board of Governors Award this week. The award recognizes attorneys for exemplary service to the profession or the ISBA and nonlawyers for especially meritorious deeds or service that significantly advance the administration of justice or the goals of the profession or the ISBA. Additionally, Stephen Komie received the Presidential Citation.
The Illinois Bar Foundation held a virtual Gala on Oct. 12, Oct. 14, and Oct. 16.
The ISBA honored Section Council and Committee awardees for the 2019-2020 year. Although there was no in-person ceremony this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several recipients were presented their awards from ISBA President Dennis Orsey and ISBA Past President David Sosin at various locations throughout the state.
The inaugural class of the ISBA Leadership Academy graduated on September 24 during a virtual ceremony. This landmark program is designed to train the next generation of professionals to become effective leaders in the Illinois legal community. Congratulations to the graduates!
